Does the Chase Rack Fit Your Full-Size Truck?

Short answer: probably. The Chase Rack works with almost every full-size truck on the road. F-150, Super Duty, Silverado, Sierra, Titan, Ram, Tundra. Here's what to expect for your truck, bike count, and setup.

A few things to know before you dig in: bed dimensions, factory rail systems, cameras, and special editions can change year to year. This guide gets you 95% of the way there. If your setup is unusual, confirm with us before you order.

The general setup (applies to most full-size trucks)

Most full-size trucks use the same rack and the same install approach: Full Size Chase Rack with Standard Clamp (or Deck Rail Mount for Tundra). Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • Bikes: 5 mountain bikes is the sweet spot. 6 can fit, but it's tight, you'll need extra spacing so they don't touch.
  • Dirt bikes: 1-3, depending on bike size, bed length, and whether you're running the Moto Offset Adapter Kit.
  • Rack position: 1.5 inches from the cab, so the bed has room to flex off-road.
  • Lower bar: Fifth hole from the cab on the riser base ,this is what keeps the bikes stable.
  • Dirt bike + tailgate clearance: With enduro fenders, the rear fender can touch the tailgate. A 1-2 inch block, a 2x4, or a ramp under the rear tire usually fixes it. With the offset adapter, a 2 inch lift raises the fender 3-4 inches — enough clearance in most short beds.

HD trucks (Super Duty, Silverado 2500/3500, Sierra 2500/3500, Ram 2500/3500) get a slightly different setup because their beds sit taller:

  • Bikes: 6 mountain bikes fit more easily than in any other truck class. Keep mounts 4+ inches apart.
  • Dirt bikes: Up to 3 full-size bikes, sometimes with room left for kids' bikes or extra gear.
  • Rack position: 1 inch from the cab (unless camera or CHMSL clearance notes say otherwise).
  • Lower bar: Any of the four rearward holes work — use the one closest to the cab for max stability.

Truck by truck breakdown

Ford F-150 (all trims, including Lightning): Full Size rack, Standard Clamp. Beds run 5.5, 6.5, or 8 ft (Lightning is 5.5 ft only). No known fitment issues.

Ford F-150 Raptor / Raptor R: Same setup as the standard F-150. 5.5 ft bed only.

Ford Super Duty (F-250/F-350/F-450): Full Size rack, Standard Clamp. Beds run 6.75 or 8 ft. Two things to watch: 2024+ F-250/F-350 may need extra CHMSL clearance if bike mounts are centered. Fix it by raising the rack 1/2-1 inch (we recommend a black anodized 1x4 T-track segment) or swapping in a 7/8 inch 1/4-20 bolt with washers. Also, trucks with a rear-facing bed camera will have about 75% of the view blocked, camera relocation kits might help.

Chevy Silverado 1500: Full Size rack, Standard Clamp. Beds run 5'10", 6'7", or 8'2". Some ZR2 trims with a bed-mounted spare tire may interfere with ramp storage brackets.

Chevy Silverado 2500/3500: Same HD setup as above. Beds run 6'10" or 8'2". No known issues.

GMC Sierra 1500: Works great — except CarbonPro beds (2019+ AT4 CarbonPro, Denali CarbonPro). Standard mounting doesn't work on those beds. Some customers have gotten around it with a CarbonPro-compatible tonneau cover that has integrated T-track, then mounted to that.

GMC Sierra 2500/3500: HD setup, no CarbonPro issue here. Beds run 6'10" or 8'2".

Nissan Titan: Full Size rack, Standard Clamp. Beds run 5'6" or 6'6". If your Titan has the Utili-track bed rail system, the clamp still works, but it has to sit tightly above the track.

Ram 1500 / Dodge Ram 1500: Works great on standard beds. Beds run 5'7" or 6'4". RamBox beds (2009-present) are not compatible. There's no workaround short of replacing the bed.

Ram 2500/3500: HD setup. Beds run 6'4" or 8 ft. Same RamBox caveat applies (2012-present).

Toyota Tundra: Uses the Deck Rail Mount instead of Standard Clamp. Beds run 5.5, 6.5, or 8.1 ft. Trims with the rear-facing bed camera will have about 75% of the view blocked. Same fix as Super Duty, a relocation kit.

FAQ

Does the Chase Rack work with RamBox? No. Not compatible, and there's no fix other than a different bed.

Does it work with GMC CarbonPro beds? Not with the standard mount. A CarbonPro-compatible tonneau cover with T-track is the workaround some customers use.

Does it work with Nissan Utili-track? Yes, usually, but the clamp has to sit tightly above the track, so budget extra time (and maybe an extra set of hands) for install.

Can I still tow with the rack installed? Yes, that's the whole point. Bikes ride in the bed, hitch stays open for your camper, trailer, or toy hauler.

Can I mix mountain bikes and dirt bikes? Yep. Most full-size setups can be configured for either, or a mix of both, depending on how you space the mounts.

Does the Chase Rack work with the Rivian R1T? Only with a compatible T-track tonneau cover setup. The Rivian R1T bed does not provide a standard clamping surface for the Chase Rack.

Which trucks need the Moto Offset Adapter Kit? The Moto Offset Adapter Kit is strongly recommended for truck beds under 5 ft 4 in when carrying two or three dirt bikes. It is especially helpful on midsize and compact trucks.

How many mountain bikes fit in a full-size truck? Most full-size trucks can carry five mountain bikes comfortably. Six can fit, but it is tight and usually takes extra spacing and adjustment.

How many mountain bikes fit in a midsize truck? Most midsize trucks can carry four mountain bikes comfortably. Five can fit, but it is tight and usually takes extra spacing and adjustment.

How many dirt bikes fit on the Chase Rack? Most compatible trucks can carry up to three dirt bikes on the Chase Rack, depending on bed length, bike size, handlebar spacing, tailgate clearance, and whether the Moto Offset Adapter Kit is used.

Can I carry mountain bikes and dirt bikes at the same time? Yes. Many Chase Rack setups can be configured for mountain bikes, dirt bikes, or a mix of both, depending on truck bed size and mount spacing.

Can I carry dirt bikes in a short-bed truck with the tailgate closed? Yes, many short-bed trucks can carry dirt bikes with the tailgate closed, but some setups require the Big Days Moto Offset Adapter Kit or a small rear tire block depending on bed length, bike size, and rear fender clearance.
